The Scarlett
Martínez International Airport in Río Hato will receive four weekly flights
from Montreal, Canada, which will contribute to the reactivation of tourism in
the central provinces.
The Civil
Aeronautics Authority, in charge of Captain Gustavo Pérez, today issued the
definitive operating certificate for the Air Transat airline to operate
regularly to the Scarlett Martínez International Airport.
The
authorization allows the company to operate four weekly flights from Montreal
to Río Hato and vice versa. The flight frequencies will be maintained
throughout the year until the high season.
Panamanians
who have a valid Canadian visa will be able to fly from the Scarlett Martínez
International Airport to Montreal.
The measure
contributes to the economic and tourist growth of the country, highlighted the
director of the Civil Aeronautics Authority, Captain Gustavo Pérez. The
increase in the frequency of flights with Canada will impact the reactivation
of tourism, particularly in the central provinces and in the Pacific Riviera.
It should be
noted that Canada is one of the priority issuing markets of the Master Plan for
Sustainable Tourism (PMTS), which is executed by the Tourism Authority of
Panama, in charge of Iván Eskildsen.
