Vicky Lopéz, organizer of the "Parada" de las Flores indicated that it is a challenge to resume the event since this year the number of giant figures that will be made from natural flowers of at least six species that are 90 rose to 50 % grown in the Highlands, the event will feature a series of activities for adults and children where the main attraction is the striking colors of various species of flowers that give life not only to the fairground, but also to the traditional parade of decorated floats.
From now on, the creative hands of about 10 professionals donate their talent and work against the clock to create enormous silhouettes, which become the protagonists of the region.
Luis Armero is one of those who have the difficult and delicate task of assembling each of these figures, he details that the work begins with wetting the structure where the flowers will be embedded, which allows them not to wither for the next ten days and remain in their maximum splendor, it also indicates that the most used species for their great variety of colors are chrysanthemums and Chinese lilies.
This year, the organizers have coordinated with the authorities of the Ministry of Public Works and the company in charge of the road expansion works to guarantee the safety of national and international visitors who are attracted by the pleasant climate and exuberant beauty that Volcán offers. and Cerro Punta.
The main attraction of the event is the parade of floats decorated with flowers, as well as a parade, musical bands, typical dances, craft fairs, stage presentations, gastronomic samples, traditional dances, mechanical attractions, games for the whole family, contests and much more. .
This year the motto is: "Highlands is Agro and Tourism", which pays tribute to the work carried out by the industrious hands of men and women.
